Welcome to the fourth part of "Anything automotive".

Continued from:

So this is not about motorsports, or your personal car or classic vintage cars but about everything else automotive that you might see on the street. One note though, if it is not your vehicle (and it shouldn't be) please clone out any identifying numbers like license plates. TYVM

Dual carburettor air cooled boxer motor, made in Germany, from way before the time you needed software to control (and cheat ) emissions

It was built into a VW T1 van, converted to a flatbed and lengthened, so it could carry a vintage Porsche racecar. If I have time I'll post a picture of that combo tomorrow.

Back in high school a neighbor's dad took Beetles and converted them into Baja Bugs, fiberglass fenders and hoods with pipe bumpers front and rear and he replaced the drivetrains with ones from vans. Tranny and engine both, a little more torque from the motor and a lower gearing in the trans. Those things could go anywhere off road in West Virginia and keep up with my 4WD F150 and maybe even go farther if the trail got too tight.
And speaking of WV and emission cheating...
