He is a falconer. Must be something for use in the falconry.
The pics are not so bad at larger sizes. The following is a 100% crop of a 6mp version. Converted with Capture One, and pp in PS with an own nr action. 
And this is a 12,6 mp crop (4350x2900) of 6400 ASA with +0.7 EV adj at 1/160s

Did you use any noise reduction software on the images? They are really good! I am usally a low iso shooter now i am going to try high...

But I used the Moiré slider to reduce the chroma noise with the slider for Amount between 50-70, and the slider for Pattern at 50. The advantage of this method is removal of Chroma noise without smearing (the ugly color blotches) and without the loss of color in the fine details. Processed the pics in PS with an own developped nr action, using methods to reduce noise with different levels for the separate RGB channels, and for selective nr and sharpening with the use of layer masks. I need some more time for tests and to refine the action. But I will describe my workflow and the action within a few weeks. A test of the action on the ISO 6400 raw file from Patric Moll: 
Resampled at 6mp (as good as ISO800 on my 7D)
