When the finalists were being chosen it was described as a classic bucolic portrait, and so it came to pass that Jaquoval's "See the light" is the winner of our eighth contest.
Our runner up was "Mattis von FraX" by Indigo, closely followed by Indi's "Waiting".
Thanks to all for their entries.

Our winner
"See the light"

Thanks so much - You've made my day!

Some history -
THe subject of the photo is my mom. She and my dad moved out to a country property when he retired in '93. They used to love going for long walks through the woods with the dogs. Unfortunately he didn't get to enjoy retirement for too many years - he passed away suddenly as the result of a massive stroke 5 years ago.

Since then she has continued to take the dogs for their walks and I try to join them when I can. She says there are times when she can feel my dad's presence - almost as if he was walking with them.
Now, she is not usually the most co-operative photo subject - usually making a face or turning away or putting up her hand, but this time I guess she didn't realize I had the camera up. Afterwards, I asked her what she had been looking at. Her reply: "I was talking to Daddy...."

Mladen - Certainly - you have our permission to upload and use the image.
