Sounds good to me.

You *are* joking, aren't you? I have around a dozen Alpha-mount film bodies. Maybe I should actually get out and use one or two of the ones I haven't yet.
Miranda F & Sensorex, Sony A58, 5d, Dynax 4, 5, 60, 500si/600si/700si/800si, various Sony & Minolta lenses, several Tamrons, lots of MF primes and *far* too many old film cameras . . .

Well, I'm sure most of us old A-mount stagers who were ever interested in film will have a body or two around (says he, looking down at the dust on the rear of his Dynax 7...) - But other analogue fans may only have come to Dyxum through use of an e-mount body to use their old glass on

In addition to the '7' I'll also be wanting to run some film through the Rolleiflex, The Contax G and the Konica Auto S3... then I might come back for a go at the 7000i...

Look what I started now

Your suggestion seems ideal. I will be not only be using my Dynax 7 (sans sticky grip) that performed well in last year's challenge but also a Minolta 7000 that I have had for so long and never used. I loaded the four AA batteries into the grip and it started up and with a lens on auto focussed okay, so we shall see.

Count me in .
I'm ready to blow the dust of my 600si and 800si , not used those two for a while .
I've recently replaced the light seals on a couple of film backs for my Kiev 88 , so I'm ready to run some film through them to check there back in full working order .

Maybe I'll step back in time and use my Retina cameras. Tiny viewfinder but lovely otherwise. I have a I and a IIIc (found a fascinating book the other day called 'The Retina Way'.

Or I could use any of the pre-war Zeiss folding cameras I started out with if I can find some film that isn't a decade or two outdated (I rarely sell or dump anything! )

This is a bit of a cryptic thread, why not a proper sign up thread? You can change this one by changing the first page and the title if you want to keep this thread going. Just a thought.

Just an idea to keep it even a bit more liberal: the use of at least one Alpha mount body should be mandatory, but it hasn't to be used first.

You are right, it is swinging about a bit, but it was only to test the amount of interest in starting another challenge.

As there seems to be that interest a new thread here is specifically for the foundations of a film challenge in the New Year.

I put a battery in the vertical grip of my 800si and camera appears to be firing on all cylinders. Found 2 rolls of Kodak colour 200 and a roll of Fuji Velvia 50 in the fridge.

Next is to source B&W film. Good opportunity to go all manual and use my lightmeter and 1950s Exakta Varex camera.

My Minolta XG-M appears to be functional as well, fun to use some old MC glass (MC W.Rokkor-NL 1:2.8 f=21mm and MC Rokkor-PG 1:1.2 f=58mm).

I shoot primarily film currently, although my a65 and NEX-5 still get some use.
I still have Minolta alpha cameras: a QTsi, STsi, XTsi, a 3xi and a couple of others that came attached to lenses I wanted. I also have 4 manual focus Minolta cameras, but I'll probably just use my XTsi.
