VisibleDust - Arctic Butterfly

 

I was raving about Sensor Brush in the past but i really like their simplicity and efficiency when dealing with dusted sensor. I know too many DSLR owners that are so scary to cleaning their cameras that they rather spend hours of photoshoping trying to remove dust speckles. To make our life even easier VisibleDust company has launched a new tool Arctic Butterfly. Once again, they have proved that the simplest the tool the more usable it is.

VisibleDust Brush needs to be electrostaticly charged which is done simply by blowing them. For this purpose we needed to carry our large air blower in our bags or canned air to clean and charge our brushes. Well, with Arctic Butterfly VisibleDust has proven to listen to their customers and put their best to make an excellent tool even better.

What makes this solution apart from all the rest is that it does not need any additional accessories to serve you. Powered by two "AAA" batteries small electro-motor turns the brush while cleaning it. Simple and effective. It isn't really pocket sized (at least I don't have pockets of that size) but it does not take too much space in any bag which make Arctic Butterfly a must have item in any photo bag IMHO.

Did you followed my recommendation and ordered Sensor Brush in the past? Yes, the same old story you may say; as soon I spend on some "ultimate" products here is the new one .. more powerful, better etc .etc ..
Well, the good news is that along with Arctic Butterfly VisibleDust has provided another product: Sensor Brush SD. It is intended to be used with your existing Sensor Brushes replacing the need for a hand blower or can air.

... close but not perfect.

There is something I hope VisibleDust will improve in the future. The power button is too easy to press accidentally which may start turning the brush while in the bag or even worst while cleaning the sensor.
For that reason I keep batteries removed and insert them only when "charging" the brush . I guess some kind of lock mechanism wouldn't be hard to implement in the future.

 

It is fair to say that i did received another "anti-dust" products recently for review purpose. I didn't write the review simply because i wanted to be honest; and honestly i really consider VisibleDust products the best solutions currently on the market. Period.

I'm used to clean my sensor very often thanks to Sensor brushes. I guess Arctic Butterfly will make this even easier task. A highly recommended accessories for all DSLR users !!
