@Fred_S ... yes, very colorful cars! The Honda Museum here is great. My favorite is the little orange one. The first two on the left basically had motorcycle engines. The museum is open to the public once a month, but announcements seem to come through social media only (Instagram feed) so not many people know about it. American Honda headquarters is here in southern California.

@MartyMoose ... glad my card made it. I see those pesky barcodes and some extra ink here, but all in all in very good shape. Here is a clean version. The Getty Museum gardens are very nice.

FYI, I bought my cards through Walmart online this year for about $1 each. Look good. Last year I used Walgreen online, but they stopped selling individual postcards. The year before that I used Rite Aid online, but they also stopped selling postcards.

I guess I find it strange and a bit frustrating how many retailers stopped selling individualized, single postcards. I'm sure there will always be someone selling them, but it's annoying to have to find a new place each year.

A very calming photo of Hemlock Creek, New Jersey, USA was waiting for me when I arrived home from work today. It arrived in very good condition with some orange bars faintly printed at the top, what looks like an ink smudge and perhaps a small area where the photo printing was scratch off. It came also with a nice floral stamp. Unfortnately my scanner wasn't able to capture the full dynamic range of the image which really does have detail in the shadows and highlights. Thank you aplmike!

It seems like everyone is making good progress with this year's DPE. I'm looking forward to seeing more image posts as cards land all over the world.

Does anyone miss the anonymous receiving process? I like the current method even though I know who is sending a card to me.

All in all, the process seems to work well. I'll let you know when I receive my first postcard.

Do I miss it? With the anonymous method the surprise element was a bit bigger, but this works well too (and is less work for the organisers). I would join again if we copy this method next year.

For me, receiving physical postcards that have traveled thousands of miles/kilometers is a very unique experience. This is so rare now when people can broadcast to their friends on Instagram or Facebook or Snapchat. And to see images from all over the world through the eyes of Dyxum photographers is incredibly special.

Yes, less of a surprise knowing the sender beforehand, but ultimately for me, the image, the message, the stamp and the damage on the card are most important.

I don't spend as much time on Dyxum as I used to, but I try to remind myself to visit when the DPE is about to start. In the "old days", I would visit all the time to learn more about camera launches.

Thanks to Mike (ADub128) for this lovely card, which arrived about a week ago, before I got back from my trip.

The subject is Spring, emerging Hosta, and is from Mike's "garden" in New Jersey. I'm afraid the picture surface got scuffed in transit, and it might be good if Mike added his original for comparison.

I'm working on some cards from my recent trip and hope to get the order online this weekend. As soon as I receive the order I'll be dropping them in the mail.

Edit: updated to add the rather striking US stamp that was used
