After a pause, my fourth card arrived today all the way from Australia.

Ducks taking flight on Tugguah lake, north of Sydney - a lovely photo by @gregja.

The card is in very good condition after 10,500+ miles, and the stamp is unfranked

Thanks, Greg!

Well Howard, one of yours arrived today in my mailbox!
A very nice and special scene with uniformed schoolchildren in Japan. Also this one arrived in very good condition, with a seasonal stamp.
The white stains on the dear in the right bottom corner are more reflections than damages.

Many thanks and best wishes to you too!

Here are the two postcards I have received so far!

I am sorry, but there has been some delay posting them - my scanner broke down and I had to get a new (well, used) one. And it took some time until it worked. And I also caught that cold that I wanted to avoid in this time of the year - which slowed me down as well.

I also sent off my five postcards in the meantime - I am happy that Fred already has received his one.

The first card arrived from Peter (KoBra64):

The second one I received from Mirek (MiPr):

With Mirek's postcard I have done a bit of PP: I scanned it as TIF and successfully retrieved some structure within the shadows (e.g. in the lower left corner). I find this quite amazing that paper can hold so much additional information which can be made visible again (it's probably not the worst scanner, an Epson V700).

Thank you both very much! Looking forward to the arrival of the other ones!

My postcards' statistics:
Receiving: 2 of 5 arrived
Sending: 1 of 5 arrived

Thanks, Fred, that was taken - like my other cards - on a recent holiday.

Here's the original

And I'd like to think that somewhere else on Flickr (but more likely Instagram, I suspect) there's another picture ... of a grey-haired westerner, photographing a sika deer under the watchful eye of (the other) guardian deity.

Still no one reported receiving my cards...
I wonder how long should I wait before printing and sending again (and this time from a different location...).
