Sony removed the A560 from their DSLR page (just the A500 and A550 at $650 and $750 respectively), and B&H shows the A560 price at $750 now with no pre-ordering.

So, it looks like the $650 launch price was listed in error, unfortunately. I intend to post a few samples later on but the initial results really stunned me (my only other 400 mm experiences are the 100-400APO and the dirt-cheap Sigma 400/5.6).

This sample is in quite good condition. Some stains on the barrel (seem to be removable) and minor paint loss on the hood are present. Everything seems to behave as it should. The clear filter (95mm) is present and so is the inert 43 mm filter. It comes with the aluminum coffin & keys. No polarizers are included.

My question is: is $2700/€2100/SEK20000 an fair price for this beast? This is in Sweden where prices tend to be higher than in the US.

I don't know if this sample is sharp but if it isn't, I don't know what is :).

Edited by Hybrid3 - Today at 17:21

There were clear blur skies today, so a touch brighter. Got shutter speeds of 1000-2500. Didn't have any over exposure problems at all. Used the same lens as before, as well as a standard 85mm prime, no problems there either. Worked as intended, with just a 'touch' of flash to lift the shadows and mold the light more to make it less harsh.

Thanks for the tip on the FEC - this is one thing I've always found very annoying, I miss the big EPC dial :(. I've always had my "C" button set to flash modes, so I can switch between wireless, fill and rear syn. However, I've now got it to FEC, which will be really useful when doing a lot of fill-flash :).
