Hi guys. I have a dust speck visible in my OVF just below the focus square.

@Paul: You can remove it with a blower or wet cotton lor / tissue.

You should first try to determine where the dust particle is actually located: mirror, groundglass, pentamirror?
If it is on the mirror/ground glass try cleaning with a blower, as explained f.i. here but without flipping up the mirror, I would NEVER directly touch the mirror with anything, it gets easily scratched! If it is inside the pentamirror then I would have it cleaned by a professional service center, or I would live with it if it is not disturbing. Edited by compragio - 12 January 2012 at 21:02 |

I just had the same problem with an a100 I received from Ebay. A large black dot on the Viewfinder. I took out the focus screen. Little did I know its actually 3 pieces.
Now that black dot is gone... but now his friend, small dot, and Mr squiggly line are in my veiwfinder. I have determined its impossible to clean =( |
