This is one I can truly say I am not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand it is interesting, she looks like a china doll, on the other hand, she looks like a china doll as there is no life in her eyes.

Well photographed but somehow I cannot connect with it, but I'm quite sure others will.

I totally agree with dca1213.

She is beautiful without flaw. But she looks as though she is not alive. Slightly ghostly.

Beautiful composition, lighting and subject. But the entire aspect makes me feel uncomfortable.

These remarks are entirely technical, not personal directed against the photographer nor the beautiful subject.

I love it. I can get a dozen emotions and story lines form this image; very emotional. Thank you for sharing.

The ultimate question - Has she seen it and does she like it...?

Kind regards, Neil.
I'll photograph anything if the light's right.

Anthony, what spoils it for me is the hands.
Hands are notoriously difficult and I can't seem to focus on anything else.

+1

Hands "too visible", eyes "not visible enough". Sorry, but it doesn't grab me either.

I agree with Photosopher... a great non-typical wedding portrait. Eyes don't bother me since they veil will hide them a bit. Great job.

Hi Budwise
I think you've achieved what you wanted to achieve & very well too, but for me weddings have a positive emotion so I (personally) would have liked to be able to see or sense that she was happy about the event, which I can't get from the image at present.
Unfortuantely the real killer for me is that I can't look at that dress for more than a few seconds without feeling unwell but I know I mustn't shoot the messenger !
Technically it's so much better than anything I could do as to be frightening so congratulations there.
No offense intended (except to the dress designer!) so hope this helps. I think the great diversity of opinion means it's probably a great photograph.
Good luck & Best wishes

I took the liberty of downloading the image and did a levels adjustment and was able to get the eyes to pop a bit more. You might want to tweak it a bit. Its an interesting image.

Depending on what the wishes of the bride were, it can be both ways (good or bad). But since we're no bride we can focus on the artistic side. There is no emotion in the eyes and the photo tries to tell me something. I don't know what exactly, but can appreciate your braveness to present something very different. Seen that way one has to conclude it is a superb shot
