Went back for a visit with my old mate again today, once again back lurking in the deep shade so glad I hauled along a tripod. Majority of shots taken between 1/10 sec and 1/40 sec at reasonable ISO for my oldish A77.
All in all spent ~2 hours with it and walked away with around 100 keepers, all in all not a bad afternoon.

Wish I one of these day's could catch him out in full sunlight again, all to many wing stretch shots in this kind of lighting just end up a blurred mess.

A great result. In #1 the background looks best, in the others a tad busy maybe. Overall i like #6 and 7 best. TFS Johan .

Cheers
Background in that spot is indeed a pain to find a clean spot in, even worse on a sunny day as the bird generally hangs out in the shade and the far background usually is in the sun.
