2012 Day 7 This thread is for posting your photos for Day 7 (December 16). Rules: - no talk please, we have the Talk thread for this purpose, - each member participating in Back to the 50s is allowed to post exactly one photo here - shots must be taken on December 16 and must not be posted here earlier or later than December 16 (unless you're shooting film of course). It's Pic-A-Day! - a title, exif info, purpose and story of the shot, and (a short indication of) your challenge are all good extra info to provide and help others to comment - if participants would like to show more photos: we have the Outtakes thread for this purpose - please remember to start and update your mini-gallery in the Thumbnails thread All participants please check your post is correct. Phew! Finally over the line with Day 7, and as last year a great event to be part of with the interactivity amongst participants all around the world and an amazing range of quality images, every one captured at 50mm.
Melbourne's iconic bathing boxes at Brighton Beach. When I set out it was overcast but by the time I arrived the sun burst through, and I found my 1/8000 shutter wasn't fast enough to cope with my self imposed f1.4 aperture. I hadn't thought I'd need to bring a ND filter, so in order to get a well exposed image I've broken my wide open rule for my last entry. ![]() Bathing boxes, Brighton Beach, Melbourne by jozioau, on Flickr a900, SAL50F14, f11, 1/850 second, ISO 200. |

The limiting factor of image quality rather will be the inability of the photographer than the clearly distinct shortcomings of the camera ;-) |
