Battery compatibility questions

According to Sony Support, the Sony SLT-A33 is listed as compatible with the NP-FH50 and NP-FH50AM batteries as well as the NP-FW50. The SLT-A55 is also listed as compatible with the NP-500H battery. And the Nex-5 and Nex-VG10 use the NP-FW50 only.
I don't know how reliable this Sony compatibility chart is though, since it lists the Nex-3 as compatible with no battery at all? Note also that on the Sony NP-FH50 battery product compatibility page the SLT-A33 is not listed as compatible.
I haven't tried this myself yet, and I'm not sure what that means in terms of performance. Does anyone know?
I have an A230 (which uses the NP-FH50) and my girlfriend has an A-33 (which uses the NP-FW50). The Sony NP-FH50 battery is cheaper on the market than is the Sony NP-FW50. Given the proliferation of (1) fake Sony and (2) poor performing replacement batteries from China flooding the secondary market I'm inclined to buy only Sony brand batteries. And both our cameras are still under warranty, which is voided by using a replacement battery. But, if we can both use the Sony NP-FH50 as a backup battery, then we'll skip buying another Sony NP-FW50 for the A-33.

The NP-500H definitely can't fit into the NEX or A33/A55.
NP-FM55H & NP-FM500H the big 3 pin contacts like Sony's older video cameras.
While NP-FW50 & NP-FH50 have the small pins.
Those aren't interchangeable: NP-FW50 has the contacts on the side, NP-FH50 in the middle.
There are 4 batteries used by Sony in the Alpha DSLR line.
- NP-FM55H ( 7.2V / 1600 mAh ) --> A100
- NP-FM500H ( 7.2V / 1650 mAh ) --> A200/A300/A350/A450/A500/A550/A560/A580/A700/A850/A900
- NP-FW50 ( 7.2V / 1020 mAh ) --> A33/A55 and NEX-3/NEX-5
- NP-FH50 ( 6.8V / 900 mAh ) --> A230/A330/A380/A290/A390
Only the NP-FM500H is officially mentioned to work in the A100 as well.
(the other way does not work simply mechanically)
The NEX handyham comes with NP-FV70 ( 6.8V / 2060 mAh ).
The voltages are rated voltages (not max).
The main problem is that these aren't dumb batteries.
The cameras recognize the battery and may just refuse to work to prevent a risk.
