Nice one Steve!
I'd send some your way if I could, though half an hours worth of drizzle doesn't do much other than raise the humidity a touch I'm afraid.
And we are expecting a scorcher of a weekend if the forecast comes through, 42C on Saturday and peaking at 45C on Sunday.

Thanks Mambo, too much honour though. I was not too happy about the lack of sharpness at the right wing. Fortunetaly the eye was right.
I like your shot as well BTW. It's beautiful
Do not so much birding myself, but keep an eye on this thread anyhow. Many other good contributors here as well. Always a bit jealous on the colorful species.

As it finally was a sunny day in Helsinki, I got out to take the first bird photos of this year...

1. A shy great grey owl (Strix nebulosa)

2. Althought this great gray owl did occasionally also look towards the people who had came to look at it (yes, I surely wasn't the only one there...)

3. Eurasian nuthatch (Sitta europaea)

Thanks! Yours are fine too. #1 Great against the blurred background and #2 a good catch!
As I said before, many great pics here. Mark_k did well too.
Also like Hezu's 2nd owl, although it is slightly dark.

Wow! An amazing action shot! Were you using continuous drive or was that a lucky/professional single shot?
A900, A58, 5d, Dynax 4, 5, 60, 500si/600si/700si/800si, various Sony & Minolta lenses, several Tamrons, lots of MF primes and *far* too many old film cameras . . .
