Thanks Mike. Their full name is the White Bellied Sea Eagle and they are our second largest raptor after the Wedge Tailed Eagle. The female is larger than the male with a wingspan of about 2M and weighing in at about 4.5KG.

If you want to see lots of them and frequent facebook then take a look at the "EagleCAM" page, some local to me researchers have put up several cameras covering the nest of a local pair, first camera went up in 2009. Usually gets lots of action come nesting season.

Even have a live feed, with access to recorded video's at EagleCam
