This is the training centre aka Outtakes thread of Day Prime 2019.
Maybe there are more people like me who want to get the feel of a lens (again) and experiment a bit.

Day Prime is a great challenge but there is a limited time slot for each FL. You have to be there on that day/in that week, or wait another year ...

This thread lets you post on other days too. And lets you post shots that you don't want to post in the main photo thread.

I haven't figured out if the aperture plates do anything for this circular fish or not. I have used the f/8 plate here but will have a go without aperture later.

Camera Model: ILCE-7

Aperture: f/8

I went to Delft to pick up my new wide angle toy. Determined to use it on film on my SRT101 and XGM. Minolta MD W.Rokkor 17 mm 1:4, the widest non-fish produced by Minolta. Wide open sharpness in the center very good, the edges are a bit smudgy (even at f/8) but in practical use this doesn’t matter as we do not view 1:1. MFD is a usefull 25 cm.

17.1: Delftse Poort

Camera Model: ILCE-7RM2
Lens: Minolta MD W.Rokkor 17 mm 1:4
Aperture: f/8
Exposure Time: 0.017 sec (1/60)
ISO: 160

17.2: Delftse Poort

Camera Model: ILCE-7RM2
Lens: Minolta MD W.Rokkor 17 mm 1:4
Aperture: f/8
Exposure Time: 0.017 sec (1/60)
ISO: 200

17.3: Canal-bridges of Delft

Camera Model: ILCE-7RM2
Lens: Minolta MD W.Rokkor 17 mm 1:4
Aperture: f/8
Exposure Time: 0.017 sec (1/60)
ISO: 250

Good stuff Paul, did you buy it from Fotohandel Delfshaven?
I have a Rokkor 17/4 as well and found it quite usable on my A7 and A7ii, actually much better than on my A6000 where the corners look more smudgy than on FF. I don't understand why but I just take what I can get. I'll be using it next week, and maybe tomorrow for some training if the weather is better than today.

I especially like your last bridge shot, very pleasing lines for my eye to follow.

Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

Same here, when I yell "Fotohandel Delfshaven" about half of my MF lenses will come to attention and salute

E 16 shot on Sunday erranding without converters

16.1 Bushwick street

not sure why the left edge is so nasty - maybe I never noticed how soft f2.8 is? although I wasn't completely straight with the ironwork either. hmmm. you learn something new every day(prime)!
