Anyone ever used a Sony FE 1.4x teleconverter with a Samyang 135mm f / 2?

Would it work manually?

Thanks,

Luc

It probably would work. At worst you might have to tape the contacts on the teleconverter. If it wasn't the E mount Samyang, I am sure you could use a generic teleconverter of that mount on it.

Not sure it will really fit mechanically onto this Samyang lens because the lens elements of SEL1.4TC are protruding

One reason why both native Sony FE teleconvertes SEL1.4TC as well as SEL2.0TC are compatible with the following FE lenses SEL70200GM + SEL100400GM only.

But that Samyang is a lens designed for SLRs so it just has a big empty air space at the back. It probably has more room than the FE 70-200/2.8 and 100-400.

Thank you for your answers. I thought someone had tested this TC on other lens than SEL70200GM or SEL100400GM.

In addition to the Samyang 135mm F/2 FE mount I also have a Mitakon 85mm F/1.2 also FE mount. I think I will have to get this TC and try my own experiences.

I will keep you informed of the results.

Thanks again!
