The UK weekly magazine Amateur Photographer used to run a strip cartoon called "What the Duck" and my favourite strip had the Duck saying:

I'd take better pictures if I had a better camera:

I'd take better pictures if I had a more expensive lens:

I'd take better pictures if I took pictures:

Oh so true!

(I'm off to take pictures now for the Postcard Challenge and the Film's Not Dead thread)

Edit: The third image is of the postcards I sent out for the 2013 Postcard Challenge

So true, and its the best value magazine in the world, imho.

I need to shoot more as well.

ps. If you turn the first card over it possibly has my name on it.

It looked like this when it arrived.

That's right! It does have your name on it. I hope you liked it.

(Defocussed for obvious reasons)

Where has the time gone?

I know Aaron Johnson, the creator of "What the Duck". He lives near me and I make the prints that he sells of his cartoon. Super nice guy! Brian, sorry to derail your thread, but I had to brag to someone who doesn't respond with "Who?".

Excellent. When you next see him please tell him I was sorry to see the strip dropped from Amateur Photographer magazine, I found myself turning to it first when the mag dropped onto my doormat. (I would much rather have the Duck or Ogden Chestnut than the nonsense the back page now has with deep philisophical ramblings over some abstract, obscure and generally very average image. Just my POV).

I often dip in to Aaron's WTD website for a few gems now and again.

I got a beer that says you still won't be after acquiring the last one on the list!

Well, it is a nice lens to have. I can understand why you're tempted.
