Probably not some of the questions I would have asked. Thus, not much of interest for the near term, and only hints about the longer term leaving plenty of room for speculation.

IR: Some of your high speed cameras go up to 10 frames/second, but some competing models that we had thought were using Sony sensors can shoot 30-40 fps at high resolutions. Can we expect to see similar speeds coming from Sony cameras in the future?

Imamura: Again, we can't respond in detail. As I said earlier today, though, one of our directions for our cameras is to realize the fastest response in their class.

Very interesting ... only question is do they consider the A7xx to be in the same class as the D300s & 7D or in lower class such as the D90?

oh .. well .. i find it quite sad to read such uninspiring interview; at least when it comes to photography. Not that the other interview (with Nikon rep) is much better IMHO but it is more about photographic tools.
I mean .. no word about neither 500mm/4 or CZ 24mm or lenses at all?
I'm afraid this could be just a result of perception of Sony as a company some journalists do have.

Ah, the "you know" interview!
You know, it's the first time I've read a text with that much "you know" density, you know.

On my side, I think that indeed all the other ones (Sigma, Olympus, Pentax) are more interesting than the Sony one. But at least on the P&S topic the Sony representative was very lip-tight, so there is a possibility that he was not really able to talk about interesting topics. As an example he's been quite carefull not to mention Canon as a company using Sony's sensors.

Somehow it seems like Imaging Resource totally forgot to ask questions about the Alpha range. Or maybe they were more interested to see what other cool gimmicks will come out in the Cybershots.

Dave at IR is a good guy but it's clear that Alpha was either 1. not on his agenda for the interview or 2. he wasn't allowed to talk about it, or 3. they did talk about it but he's under nondisclosure.

Perhaps most of the Sony users on IR are Cybershot users and those are the kinds of questions he got from them. Suffice to say that an interview spearheaded by Dyxum and an interview from another one would probably be totally different.

Agreed. The questions were entirely worthless from our perspective. To have gotten the big guns in the Sony imaging organization for an interview, and then asking them these silly peripheral questions, was a total waste of time, IMHO.

Now THAT is a good point. Would it be possible to "spearhead" such an interview from Dyxum's side ? Obviously we are talking about a worldwide site that contains 1000s of Alpha users from all over the globe.

I am certain Sony would be interested in developing a link....or am I wrong here ?

I believe Kiklop had taken a list of questions and comments from people a few months ago about lens direction. I wonder where that went?

(As I recall there were a LOT of requests in that thread for something like the 24/2 Zeiss, so it looks like one of the big ones has been answered).

i have to wonder what he means by this? fastest response, could mean fastest shutter speeds, most pictures taken per second, fastest startup to picture time, fastest focus times...
