I am looking for a M42 adapter for my Sony A500 which has the aperture pin flange i.e. to push the aperture pin in.

I ordered one from Amazon which stated it had the flange, but when it arrived it was flangeless (is that a word)?

If anyone knows where one of these elusive products can be purchased, could you please post the link.

Many thanks

Stephen.

In case you're still looking for this...
Seller weakpotoman on Ebay [http://stores.ebay.com/weakpotoman] has chipped adapters that both have or don't have flanges. One is black and the other is silver. I can't remember which is which. They might not have both kinds posted on Ebay at any given time, but if you contact the seller, I bet they can find the correct kind and get it to you. You can also pay a few bucks extra to get the EXIF data on the adapter edited to correctly match the lens you're using.

I've tried a couple of those adapters with flang, unfortunately they do not work very well, most of my M42-lenses hits flang section of the adapter before they are fully screwed in so it can't focus to infinity.
It's usually better to lock the pin by inserting a small plastic tube on the inside of the lens or block it in its innermost position in any other way.
