OK. Here is my third try. I am providing two pictures. The first has multiple converging lines on the subject and the second has a single distinct line leading to the subject. Thoughts?....

Both were taken with a 100mm Macro lens at about a second exposure, f16 and f9

@goldsmid: The converging lines on the first lead toward the central stem and away from the subject. The second is a pass. Cheers... Brian

@ Ch_Igriega, I'm afraid we'll ask you to try again. I don't understand the first picture. There's some lines leading to an upside down box so technically it might be something, however the total picture has so many distractions (dust, shadows, other pipes, glare ...) and almost seems an accidental snapshot such that it's totally uninteresting for me. The second is a lot neater in terms of composition, however the "non-leading" lines are more dominant than the leading ones, so that's why I don't see it as a pass either.
C&C welcome on my pics, mods need help as well.

Copperhead. Just like your last submission in the Rule of Thirds assignment this is a clear combination of the two techniques to place emphasis on a subject. The line is quite vague but leads to the deer, but also helped greatly by their ROT placement. So I would say it's a pass, but maybe after doing some more other assignments come back here and do a leading line which is much firmer and clearer, and not helped by leading to a ROT point.

Onritsu, I think both work fine as leading lines to the pyramid as well as the boy. I'd say both are passes.

adrianz, we've see similar lines before in the thread and the problem with this idea is that the lines really don't lead to anything special or particular. So for you we would ask you to try again.

Here goes my first try at this assignment, itīs from this mornings walk with the dog, and itīs from a place that I like to take pics of. My only concern is that the man walking towards me drags to much attention from the lamp posts and the building behind.

Cheers Christer

Christer, you're such a good self critic

Yes I agree the man is too much of a distraction, but the other issue I see is that the two "lines" (one formed by the lamp shades and one by the benches/waste bins) both lead to a very uninteresting part of the image. I think for a picture like this you should look for lines leading to the tower. Hope this helps for the finding the next scene for this assignment.
