After being our loyal buddy for 15 years and 7 month she decided last saturday that it was time to go, and she stopped eating and drinking. Even a nice fresh slice of roast-beef didn't attract her any more. Monday the vet tried to get her into action with an injection of vitamins and cortizones, but her own will was stronger. Wednesday the vet came again and put her to sleep forever. No food or fluids for a few days drained all energy from her.
We hoped for one more Christmas with her, but will always cherish all the good memories of having her around the house.

I know how it feels too. You never can't compare them with humans of course but you get very attached to dogs. It is great to come home a bit tired, grumpy, and your dog is enthousiastic and wagging the tail to welcome you at home. You must feel like a truck has ran over you. All the best.

Such sad news and we can only guess what a loss this is for you and the family - we are cat people (both being at work full time) but the feeling of loss is still the same. I'm sure she had a wonderful time with you and enriched all your lives over the years. A sad loss but some wonderful memories no doubt. All our thoughts are with you and best wishes, Neil. |

O no, how sad. It is always hard to loose a pet as it becomes family..I'm sure she had a great life in your family and will get a special place in your hearts.
