Really? on what part? do please enlighten me, since what I see the specs that the first thing people usually squint their eyes on are ISO.. and that's only up to 6,400. Granted it's expandable to 25,600 but is it going to give the result you wish to see from a nearly $3 grand camera?

And 4 fps burst on full resolution... And people say 12fps in a 24mp apsc sensor is just a gimmick.. i don't know...

David

I always thought 16mp is sweet spot (24mp was just huge for me) I don't print that often!
Will they will introduce D4X?? How many pixel will it be?

And this 36mp sensor...

I know it's launched by Nikon first... but Nikon has a quite apparent history that they've been using the same sensor as Sony's.. So is it possible that what has been written all over in SAR website that they're using the sensor developed for A9x to be announced in the future?

Or do they have their own sensor for this one?
Regards,

David

Any idea if Sony actually makes the D800's sensor?

Are you joking or being serious?

36 megapixels and an option for no AA filter is incredibly awesome and unnecessary at the same time which is why people are OMG-ing. As awesome as when the a900 came out, but that was the first camera to draw the line where megapixel gobblers finally said enough for 35mm.

Other than the 36mp sensor, which may or may not be a noise demon, I don't see anything in the specs that's ground braking.
Probably a great camera for printing huge landscape murals though.

Why should it be a noise demon? The 36 MP FF sensor has the same pixel density as the A580, NEX-5N sensors. These have shown to have very low noise.

I'd have to go for the D800E with no AA filter.

In-camera disabling of the aliasing and moiré pattern reduction operation performed by the optical low-pass filter built into the D800E allows light passing through a NIKKOR lens to strike photodiodes directly for even greater resolution. This makes this model optimal for landscape and artistic photography with which higher resolution and clear definition is demanded.
