The Oroville Dam catastrophe, here in NorCal
Oroville California

I've had to update this post the Dept of Water Resources has modified their publications. Here is the link to the total gov photo galleries. At the beginning are incredible photos during the start of the catastrophe

I have also updated the live 24 / 7 stream at the bottom of this post, also fascinating, especially to someone like me who lives in vicinity

This is the only view I was allowed to photograph
the 1st photo I took w my new Sony a6500

Thanks! Nice that the feed shows different cameras, not merely a static wide.

4paul, Yes thanks. I agree
I thought I'd add a link to a drone 2 min fly-over. These are done be the Dept of Water Resources, the owner and responsible for the dam. They are up close short and fascinating.

I thought an update of one of America's largest engineering projects would be fascinating to some. The progress that has been made. Pretty amazing considering all the gov mandated regulations in California. Hat tip to the contractor, no worker has been lost to injury and they seem to be running just ahead of the rainy season which starts in earnest around our Thanksgiving day. This is the 24 / 7 live stream of the dam

https://youtu.be/IT9SuXg_VEk

This is the regular spillway, they still have to fix the emergency spillway
both were blow out in the heavy rains
(I heard it never rains in California)"Sorry"
