As it does not hurt to dream a bit once in a while, here is a chance to already start thinking about what 2012 might bring.

2011 plans might not all have come true, but there always a chance to do better next year .

- My first plan for 2012 is to not let the number of a-mount lenses in my bag (15 ) increase any further.

- Secondly, the e-mount CZ24/1.8 is on my wish list.

- Finally, if the Nex-7 proves to be as good as some say, I might replace my Nex-5.

In any case, 2 and 3 will not be part of 2011 anymore as I have other things on my mind during the next months .
α700 VG F58 ~ Σ8-16 16-80T* 28-75D 70-400G ~ 24-70T* 70-200G ~ 35DT 100M 500/8 ~~~ Nex-5N ~ 0.75x 16/2.8 18-200

I'd like to get second FF-body. a900/a850 probably but I'll keep my eyes open if Sony desides to come up with new full frames.

Lenses I'm missing the most:
85/1,4
35/1,4

Maybe some f/2,8 zooms also.
α850, α33
8FE - 28/1,8 - 50/1,4 - 85/1,4 - 90/2,8M - 135/1,8 - 500/8
Some zooms and flashes

Next year I have the Tamron 180 macro in my sights, along with a couple of the 20AM flashes with plans for a twin macro rig. But to use them first I need to get the RRS portrait flash bracket which was/is on last/this years wish list.

Another good reason for a Dyxum east coast meetup. You can try out the Tamron first hand .

A long, very long, Nikon tele prime (400/600)is on my wishlist,
which I would trade for my 200/4.0 and my 400/4.5. Just dreaming!

Plans.. is to try to maximize the potential of my a77 before buying more stuff that'll drive my finances down.
Otherwise, just looking for a simple cheap 35/1.8, and get my hands on NEX 7, at least to test it out.

My plan:
Buy nothing more than a cheap APS body to carry in my vehicle
Get a permanent microphotography setup together in my house (kinda need to finish my office for this)
Visit Everglades with my 600/4
Take a yellowstone/rocky mt natl park/devils tower/etc road trip sometime in the spring
Deny all wedding photography requests

Next year I hope to move up to full frame, so I'm anxiously waiting to see what Sony will have to offer. Also plan to add a flash.

none so far.

but i might be tempted to buy a a77 with firmware 4.0

and if the a99 comes with the same amount of improvements as the a77 vs the a700 i might have two a900's for sale to partly finance them.

in reality it is unlikely that i will buy something new: i seldom buy electronic equipment that has just hit the market - usually a year or two wait makes the stuff a lot more attractive: firmware versions have gone up, prices have come down...

as far as lenses are concerned, i have no plans - in fact i already have more then i use.

a NEX-7 might however be a nice "extra" camera - if Sony comes up with some good quality pancake lenses.

i still have to get used to the limited time span of digital camera's, my Canon F1's film camera's lasted over 35 years and are still fully functional....

2012 will see me finally finish completing my original Maxxum lens collection. Don't need many more.

A 300mm f2.8, 135mm f2.8, and a 35mm f2 and I'm done. Maybe that 85mm f1.4 LE... if the stars align correctly (but it's not original).

Then on to a few Contax Distagons with Leitax conversion for Alpha. Specifically the 21mm, 15mm, 18mm, and the 35mm Shift.

One more PEN-FT lens to go... the 20mm f3.5.

Well, I'm pretty happy with my gear at the moment. No major changes are intended.

What I really want 2012 to bring, is the end of my stalker's harassment so I can try to rejuvenate my passion for wildlife photography again. Sadly the photography was one of the catalysts for her stalking. Knowing she's 'out there' viewing my photos takes a lot of pleasure away from this hobby. 18 months on, and there's still no end in sight... sigh

My 2012 Plans are modest because I made numerous acquisitions in 2011. However, I covet a CZ 16-35 f/2,8 , a 400mm lens which has greater optical speed than the Sony version, a Secret Handshake which is used but not abused and a good quality 20mm f/2,8 (quality is more important than manufacturer).

Unfortunately, a 600mm f/4 is too expensive for my budget.    A T&S? A dream for 2013 .

I'm very happy with my current setup. My itches ... more primes (maybe an 85mm), and maybe the A65. I don't mind just shooting!
Current Faves: NEX-3 | A55 | A700 | Tam 28-75, 70-200 | Min 50 1.7, 85 1.4 | Sony 16(E-mount), 28 | Rokkor-X 50 1.4
