1) Have a proper hard case made up for my gear.

2) Procure a workhorse travel zoom (probably 2nd hand) for trips abroad.

Actually now that I think about it I'd probably be better off doing those two the other way round!
C&C always appreciated

I'm not thrilled with what everybody is saying about the a77, I want it, but not yet. Lets let that pot boil awhile.

I do like hunting for used Minolta glass and will continue to do so.

I am getting very interested in the Nex-5n, and may buy one soon.

I want to participate more in this forum, which is a huge resource.

Wishlist: The STF (before it's gone), an 85mm, and a ultra wide.

An A77 early in the year and a second hand A850 later in the year. I reckon that combination would be pretty hard to beat.

As for lenses, I would really like one of the 135mm's, either CZ or STF would do (or both ). If only there was a CZ STF, it would kill two birds with one stone.

However, the purchase of a house early next year would not be very conducive to me receiving anything more than the cameras (the A850 will be a stretch as it is)

However, I will take the house over lenses.... I think....

I remain in painful quest for Minolta Maxxum 200 F2.8......

Unfortunately it still has to be cheap....real cheap.

I'd like an 85 F1.4 too, also cheap.

The yard sale and LCS monitoring continues....

I agree with AKunde - though I think it should be two A77s (one for me and one for him )

I wouldn't mind the 135mm STF as well and maybe the A850 later in the year to compliment our combined kits, but a house is more important than the STF and A850, so these will be on the cards potentially for end of 2012 early 2013....

Hopefully I'll be getting the A77 for Christmas. Was supposed to be the NEX 7 but due to obvious circumstances beyond anyone's control that's now not going to happen. I will however be getting one when the initial high price starts to drop off so maybe by late spring.

I'd also like the E55-210 to go with my current E16 & E18-55 and that will give me a good range for the NEX. At some point I'll be getting the LA-EA2 so I can use all my lovely A mount lenses too.

I have a load of gear to sell too and really should get around to it. The quicker I sell, the quicker I get new toys.
John.

Smile and develop a sense of humour. Life will be so much easier and make a lot more sense.

Well, I turned forty this year, so I have been treating myself throughout 2011 with some lens purchases, mostly on the second-hand market... I have no real need for anything, other than a lottery win to free up my time!

Having said that, I have been thinking about getting a prime at 300mm, but would look to get something second-hand - I'll be keeping my eye out for a Minolta 300mm F4 (or F2.8, if within my budget) next year.

Oh, and to get out more and explore my local patch...

1 Shoot a lot more. Been slacking this year, and it's making me sad.

2 "Finish" line-up. Doing so involves the Sony 35/1.8, 16-50/2.8 and the Tokina 11-16/2.8. Seems doable actually, and probably in that order. That will leave me with:
11-16/2.8
16-50/2.8
50-150/2.8
From 11 to 150 in 3 lenses makes me happy. They are complimented with:
35/1.8
50/1.8
100/2.8 Macro
70-300SSM
18-250
LensBaby (Gen1), some macro tubes, and a HVL-42/HVL-20. Carbon tripod, carbon monopod. Nothin' holding me back but me.

2012?

I hope I can take photographs half as good as Gustav

I have a copy of a What the Duck strip cartoon in my bag that says it all for me:

If I had a better camera I'd take better photos...
If I had better lenses I'd take better photos...
If I took more photos I'd take better photos

missing in my bag:
Minolta 85 1,4
Sigma 8-16

Also IŽd like to make a "flash-seminar" with any professional photographer.

And I still have quite a few lenses for sale to not let expanse my equipment even more ;-)

Sony 70-400 (Really like my Tamron 200-500, but sometimes it would be nice to have a lens that starts a bit wider when hiking)
Camera bag for Tam 200-500 or similar (when mounted on camera).
Some class or book to improve my photography

If I get a FF camera, I will also need a FF normal zoom. A Tamron 28-75 will probably do very well.

Since this kind of threads helps me to live with my gear acquisition syndrome, I'd like to share my last year and wishes with you:

2011
No full frame camera, but an A580 that has given me the low light capabilities I've been after for some while. Very happy with that. And also both the lenses wished for. The 50 has almost became my walk around lens and the 70-400 has given me new ideas in landscape photo.

Got a good book written by a well known member of photo contest jurys here in sweden, but no new photo bag.

2012 wishlist
No new lenses (this is not a promise ) unless Sony decides to build another FF DSLR. Because then I will have a strong urge for both that and a kit lens (CZ 24-70?)
More personal challenges (in february 2011 I shot only B&W, which was a good exercise for me).
Participate in one of the challenges here.
Give another try to find a nice camera bag for my telephoto lenses mounted on camera.
