Thanks. But did you attend the event as a Sony employee/rep (or as a rep from a large retailer) or was the event open to the general public and you participated as a member of the public ?

Did you get to use it or did you just see demonstrations? |

Thanks. I had pre-ordered the F58AM flash and the expected shipment date is the 1st of September. But the "plasticky" situation mentioned is a bit discouraging. Especially when the product costs over $500 (including Tax).

plasticky -> YMMV (Your milage may vary),
One's mans plastic is another mans rock. So I'd just wait to experience it in person. Besides the flash is made of plastic afterall. And flashes always are plasticky. |

kaveh, are you free to carry a camera like A900 in street and shoot everything you want in your country? Just about curiosity.

Nice to hear that! But do you have something to say about new lenses? can we expect to see more lenses released together with "so called "A900""?

hmm, sounds like what we've been calling the "A900" will be released under another model name.

All,
I work for Sony in training... And not even I know what the confirmed Model name will be as of yet. Been kept very much under wraps by our Digital Imaging team... No confirmed Spec or anything, All prototype models obviously have no final spec list with them.. So rumours remain rumours... Chris |

The rumors a few months ago were the Alpha PRO or Alpha 900 PRO.

I have had PM email from Sony execs using the term Alpha 900, without any reference to this being provisional. Three months ago I was generally receiving replies/emails referring to 'the flagship', then 'the Alpha Pro' but now it is Alpha 900 so I assume that the final name is, indeed, Alpha 900.
Either that or there's some deliberate spreading of misinformation - 'everyone is calling it the Alpha 900, just along with that, they will find out on the day...' David |

And AFAIK a900 is written under the black tape found on preproduction units. I would be very surprised if the name will be any different.

Have you reviewed your lenses?

After repeatedly saying that they regard this as an advanced amateur camera not a profesional level one surely it would be surprising if Sony used "PRO" in the name. |
