I realize this topic has come up before, but I'd like to revisit it, in the light of current offerings. For those shooters who have used both SDHC (or SDXC) Class 10 memory cards, and the current Sony MS PRO-HG Duo HX memory cards, do you have a preference? Ignoring price differences for a moment, do you have a preference in terms of speed, reliability, or other factors? Thanks in advance - I look forward to hearing your responses.

Ignoring the Class 10 cards and focusing only on UHS-I 95MB/second cards myself. Main reason is because the A77 can take advantage of the 95MB/second UHS-I cards.
The MS Pro-HD Duo HX cards are advertised as being 50MB/second, but that is kind of a stretch, given that it is the rated READ speed and the actual write speed is more like 25MB/second. In either case, I'm going with the Extreme Pro Sandisk cards. They are shock/waterproof like the HoodMan steel cards. So Speed/Reliability is priority. Capacity and price are secondary. Hope that helps. |

SDHC cards are the dominant storage media.
Always try and stay with the dominant media so you're not trapped with fewer options and more expensive storage. |
