Sony A560 service out of warranty?

So I've got this problem with my A560's control dial, the settings on the camera will randomly go in the wrong direction, or jump a whole stop at a time unless I move it very slowly. I've had it since I purchased the camera but it gotten worse and grown from a minor annoyance to a major issue.

I was foolish and didn't send it in right away for repair, and now I'm not sure if it is still under warranty, I purchased it used from B&H this past summer and have had it for less than a year but have no idea when it was originally purchased.

So what I'm wondering if anyone has any sort of experience with out of warranty repairs from Sony, what sort of cost I can expect to pay to get it fixed, how long it will generally take etc.
