If they take too long it will look outdated. Get a move on Sony.

And move that PC port to the front like the a900. That way my sync chord doesn't twist in vertical mode. Up front, it rotates nicely.

not to burst any bubbles... but this concept model has already been discussed. like... a year ago.

On the other hand, if Sony produced an A99 that looked like this, i'd buy it in a heartbeat, on sexiness alone!

That's good to know. I just came across this. Perhaps a link to the old thread is in order.

As modern as this camera looks and will likely function, I can't help but think its sharp-edged, radical design hearkens back to some of the older film camera designs. Am I nuts?

As I'm told, the 7000 was an advanced camera for its time as well, being the first alpha mount SLR to introduce autofocus.

So if the A77 will be announced on 7/7/11 then I guess the A99 announcement will come 9/9/12.

We'd better pace ourselves or else 99 pages won't be enough to last 15 months.

It's ok, by the time they get it to market, the angular sleek look will be "out", and they will have to go away and re-design it to have next years "new" organic curves.

In product / industrial design there's nothing much new under the sun.

Is it just me or does the grip look very close to the lens? and also why oh why can't they make the l/h side of a camera (as you hold it) a bit bigger, sometimes when you just have a prime lens on you just want a firm grip on the camera itself with both hands (at least I do) that said if money was no object I would probably buy one like a shot, but I suspect that like all of the higher end cameras (from all mnfctrs not just Sony) it will be well out of my price range unless I win the lottery...
be interesting to see what exactly is going to be under the bonnet when this is released though.....sensor, quicker af, live view? (according to some sadly missing on the 850/900)electronic horizon level, low to high ISO range imo forget the shooting in near dark conditions such as on the Nikons I would prefer to be able to drop the ISO right down when it's really sunny and still have a decent high ISO for low light but not necessarily able to shoot in pitch black...and would prefer a proper SLR as opposed to SLT but that is because a day shooting with an EVF hurts my eye (or it did with my old Fuji S6500FD) just my twopenneth worth, I am sure some will disagree but this is just what I would like to see

Who would design the lcd screen so that unless it is dangerously articulated out it can only be viewed with the camera above your head?

With pro equipment form should fit function not style.
