Dear Dyxumers,

There were many excellent photos in this DPC - each having its own merits and rendering a very different atmosphere - a very hard choice to make, but I'm pleased that the photos which I liked the most happened to be the "great three" which you can see below

So, all votes are counted, re-counted to make sure all is OK, and I'm pleased to announce the winner of the "Neon" DPC:

"Croc" by pegelli

Excellent photo - minimalistic, great composition, really an eye-catcher. No wonder that it won the competition. But then please take a look at the photo below - the one which got the Honourable Mention - what a fantastic atmosphere this photo renders - "A Slice of Americana" indeed:

"A Slice of Americana" by Basil

Then we have completely different "twist" in approach: neon in B&W, really? But look how carefully this photo is composed and how well it renders the feeling of depth. B&W helps a lot focusing on the form and all leading lines. Pleasure to look at.

"WhichWayIsUp" by onsplekkie

To be honest - my feeling is that one could shuffle the above three shots and make another one the winner and nobody would notice So, congratulations to the winner and the HMs for the oustanding work!

Last but not least - thank you all for voting and participation in this DPC

Happy shooting,
MiPr

It's an honor to be an HM in this contest. That croc shot is amazing.
To see is to enjoy. To see beyond is to rejoice.

You can say that, it took me 10 years and it's not due to lack of trying, but there always seem to be talented newbies joining the ranks with better pictures than mine.

I'm very proud I can now replace the orange badge on my bag with a golden one. I'm honored so thanks for the support and votes!

Congrats to Basil and onsplekkie. Basil, that car in the shot is a real bonus and Maarten, perfectly composed and a special choice for B&W to meet a "Neon" theme. Well deserved shared honors
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

Congratulations Pieter for your win, hopefully it is just a start.
"A Slice of Americana" by Basil is a great example of photography painted by light and is my favorite.
"WhichWayIsUp" by onsplekkie is very interesting 'maze' of lines and shapes greatly illuminated.
Congrats to all three of you.
