M42 adapter for α-mount AF DSLC with Focus Confirmation
suitable for α-100,α-7D,α-5D There are two type adapters , one is single data inside: The other is four sets data inside : All len's data could be selected by user. I can accept paypal for oversea buyers. If any question, please email me , Thanks. The M42->α-AF electronic adapter, which has the electronic circuit inside, may simulates the data interface of the lens of α-AF format. Its electronic touch point connects to the same point on digital camera under normal condition. When digital camera is performing boot, it reports the simulating data of the lens for the digital camera. Thus, the digital camera will treat the MF lens as the AF lens. Then the Focus Confirmation, as well as more important AS functions can be enabled. For giving a maximum effect for AS, it should choose the same lens parameter as the MF, for instance, if you want use the Takumar 50/1.4, the best selection is simulating to the Electronic Adaptor of AF50/1.4. When you use the 135/2.8 MF lens, you’d better to select AF135/2.8. This may avoid remedy mistake because of the actual different focal distance brings from AS function. The same as the above principle, we shouldn’t suggest use focal variation manual lens for avoiding calculation adjustment error brings from the AS function. Since it is unable to provide the correct focal distance data to the camera, it inevitably brings the calculation adjustment error which can cause the vibration due to the system error. M42->MAF Adaptor features compact construction and limited space. Although this Adaptor adopts comprehensive technical method, and considers the situations of the majority of lens, it still has the possibility of the position interference with the using lens. It usually present with rough install for the lens screwing to the Adaptor, or strenuous. In this instance, we suggest not install forcefully and change to other lens, or you can grind the thread of the lens. New version can support up to 4 kinds focal setting. you can use only one adapter for 4 lens. |

Hi James:
I checked out the link to your site. I see you have some type of contact/chips without the lens adapter itself. Are these the same as those in your m42 adapter? Are they available in quantity? Thanks, Pete |

I ordered an M42 adapter with 4 focal lenghts included, and I am pleased by it.
The big positive point is that JamesLaoT allows us to choose our own focal lengths. I am not yet sure about infinity focus, because I just received the adapter yesterday, and have not yet done proper testing. However, in the worst case it would not be far from infinity, and for sure is way better than some regular m42 adapters I already bought. |

Hey James
Im trying to PM you but dyxum says you cant recieve anymore PMs. I am interested in buying a focus confirm m42 adapter for my a100 with 4 different lenses. Helios 40 85mm f1.5 Jupiter 9 85mm f2 carl zeiss jena 35mm 2.4 carl zeiss jena 180mm 2.8 In your above list on max aperture, you dont mention f1.5. Has this changes since and do you support it now? This is my favourite lens and i would love to get it working with focus confirm and steady shot. Thanks a lot Conor Edited by conor12 - 28 March 2008 at 01:40 |

I too would like to buy one but can't get a PM through.
James: can you please PM me? @conor: you could set it at f/1.4. SSS only cares about focal length; max aperture only gets recorded in exif and defines the range that you can twirl the wheel through in A-mode. The 85/1.5 will work fine if the camera thinks it's f/1.4. Edited by polyglot - 28 March 2008 at 02:13 |

Hi James,
I already have an 4-data adapter from you. It works great with my A100. My question is: Will it work with A700? I'm saving to buy this new body. I think it will work... Am I wrong? |

I know that the confirmation of approach does not usually work with openings smaller than F8. Can the image stabilizer with an F10 or F12, as the MTO or Rubinar 1000mm F10? |
