Hi Drudkh,
I tried to download your script, but it says that "Sorry, the file you requested is not available."

hi pals,

i spent just a little time writing up the script using AutoIt for those of you who desperately want to try this indoor. i've compiled into an exe file for Windows XP (not sure if this works on Vista or other version of Windows).

download (winrar): http://www.sendspace.com/file/rozhlz

the button is not responsive at times (i have no idea why), so you may need to click more than once.

cheers!

That's not bad. What is the shortest time interval you can manage?

Time to by the AC adapter. It is obscenely expensive.

Ok, so just did a little time lapse video (see youtube). 1 picture every 10 seconds, 600 in total, played back at 24FPS, captured with my Automator/Applescipt/RCC technique described here.

As for battery performance, this used about 30%, which is not too bad (although not good enough for a whole day or night).

Just my two cents...

Thanks, Rob. Mine kinda still works - occasionally. And the bulb-lock is defunct. Might treat myself. Thanks again.

Sony Alpha 700 Interval Timer using the Remote Camera Software. Say hi to Time Lapse.

The solution (mac only) uses only free software, in fact the stuff that comes with OS X (Applescript and Automator).

The downside (as compared to using an external timer with the camera) is that the USB connection seems to drain the battery fairly quick :(

So I also ended up ordering a timer release (this one, which seems very inexpensive, thanks "Somebody").

Glad you're happy, el_floz. The item you ordered from ebay also works fine - in fact, it's a little gem. I bought one. Same supplier. Just be aware that they are fragile!!!! Treat with care. Mine didn't survive being hauled around in my camera bag. Check the screws when you get it. Glue the suckers in if it will make you feel better. Of course, I may have got one they forgot to tighten...

Yeah, AutoIT is pretty powerful, I once made a script to play BlackJack online. It would move the cursor to a specific position, drag the mouse to select the numbers, copy them and then, depending on what they were, decide what to do further and click the specific button. It has timer functions so would be easy to make a "click once in n seconds" action

Try AutoIT - quite powerfull and flexible. It has a tool to record a "macro", eventually tweak it later and add some GUI in code. You can also compile the script. I could give you a hand with this but I don't have the Sony software. Let me know if you have any questions.
