Dear Dyxumers,
This contest was a very tough one - many excellent photos. Really the best of the best. But despite this it looks like the winner was known even before voting started ... Sorry, there was no way to win with that photo ...
Congratulations to the winner - the photo which really deserves this prize:
As usual the winner is awarded with the Golden Dyxum Patch. The honourable mention "award" goes to two photos which are no worse than the winner: "107" by aarif
and "Freres de cordée" by Charles C.
Congratulations and thank you all for voting and participation in this DPC. Happy shooting, MiPr |

A truly deserved win for ijsvogel. It's the kind of shot we all dream of getting (but probably don't have ijsvogel's patience or skill!). Congratulations to all other finalists too - it was really hard voting this time. |

It was without a doubt one of the best images ever posted here, and could possibly be the first time that behavior has ever been captured. There was no beating that photo, but I was just humbled to be in the running. As far as the other twelve pics go, there's not a clear winner there and I'll bet it was a very close race with just a few votes seperating all the others.
Congrats to Gustav and the HMs. I can just imagine the stir that kingfisher is going to make when it's displayed by Sony at that upcoming event. |

Congratulations Gustav.
I have to confess that I never got round to voting in this contest. I found it initially very hard to choose between the truly excellent and varied finalists (and, in fact, some of those that didn't make the final) and then never actually got round to making up my mind.
But your kingfisher photo is a worth winner and I was so glad of the privilege of seeing the prints of this and your other brilliant kingfisher images at Focus yesterday. And it was a pleasure to meet you and talk. Hope you had a good flight home. |
