@goldsmid: The converging lines on the first lead toward the central stem and away from the subject. The second is a pass. Cheers... Brian

OK. Here is my third try. I am providing two pictures. The first has multiple converging lines on the subject and the second has a single distinct line leading to the subject. Thoughts?....

Both were taken with a 100mm Macro lens at about a second exposure, f16 and f9

@Dudger: Sorry, Dave. If anything, the stones form a trailing line and not a very strong one at that. You have your "ducks in a row", but they don't lead anywhere. I can't give you a pass on this one. Cheers... Brian

Might seem over keen - sorry if so
Today took this and couldnt decide if it works as a leading line. So would folk mind judging it on top of the first pass - pretty please

@godsakes: The stones work nicely for a pass on the assignment. You might consider adding some fill-flash to the figure to bring out a bit more detail. Cheers (and on to your next assignment)... Brian

@goldsmid: It's a beautiful image. The ski slope, however, does not make an effective leading line in this case. The skiers at the end are too small to qualify as the subject and the sharp contrast between the slope and the surrounding forest means that it is competing with rather than leading to the mountain (which seems the most appropriate subject for the photo). Again, it's a great shot, but not quite a leading line. Pleaes try again.

Cheers... Brian

@goldsmid - I don't know if it will pass or not (I think that the problem will be that your leading line doesn't have a subject), but I just love that photo. The detail in the trees on the distant mountains is great and the combination of light and shadow is very interesting.

That works well Sharpedge. Consider it a full pass and move on to your next chosen assignment.
