Hi. Long time reader, first time poster.

Bought a Minolta 50/1.4 RS recently for a good price. It did not include the original hood.

Will the Sony ALC-SH0011 meant for the Sony 50/1.4 fit on it?

I presume it would but multiple searches haven't turned up a definitive answer.

Thanks so much.

It will fit, seems to be a bit tight though- I have just checked it.
20 dollers is a bit expesnsive!

Thanks for the quick reply!

$20 is a little steep. I work a couple of blocks from B&H so maybe I'll get it there for $18+tax.

Even with the cost of the hood I still made out well overall.

I just saw that hood in the 5 dollar bin at the local camera store . Pm me if you want me to see if its still there. I didn't have a need for it so I didn't think of buying it.

Hood is the same.

By the way, that same bayonet is used on many sony lenses.   2.8/24, 2/28, 1.4/50 RS, 2.8/100 macro, 100-300 APO D, 70-300 (non G) and probably some I don't know of. The hood size varry's but same mount.

I use the 100 macro hood on all my lenses as I just have APS bodies. the 24mm will vignette slightly.
