Well,
thanks! Actually the first 6 pics are from Burano and Murano, two small islands in front of Venice...

Ah, that makes sense
Murano is where the famous glass comes from, right?

That's a very nice set, Girello.
I must say that the colors are rich, but you might want to try some tactics to improve your dynamic range. The shots are very high contrast, and a lot of detail in the dark areas has been lost. 5, 7, and 10, for example. 2 and 8 are the standouts of the bunch. Very nice! |

Thanks guys!
Burano is famous for its hand-made "merletto" (lace??). Murano is famous for the glass. The weather was terrible, it was raining for 80% of the time. It was so frustrating! #8 was shot in a moment where the weather was changing, that is why it has that special lighting...
To boost the colours I increased the contrast, loosing some details in the shadows. But, to be honest, I was so disheartened because of the poor weather, that i did not feel like wanting to post-process these pics that much...in fact, consider that I have been there one month ago, and I posted the pics only yesterday!! I am not particularly happy of these pics, nevertheless I decided to post them, to give the opportunity to people from other countries to have a look at these fantastic places!! In fact, this is for me one of the good aspects of being part of a photografic community! .
thanks for your comments! Ciao!! |

And we thank you for posting them!! In all honesty, I see some of the world's most beautiful and wonderful places through the lenses of the Dyxum members scattered around the globe, and it's an amazing thing. That's likely my favorite part about Dyxum, the enormity of the world and the fact that it is brought down to size right here on one website |

Thank you for bringing back the memory of my trip to Venice, it was a long time ago but it still is one of the best cities I have visited. I was just a kid but I will go home and flip through the shots I took back then.
I think your shots are very good considering the conditions but I understand your frustration about the weather.
