I was under the impression that the kits on which they set these up and take them pretty much do all the work - including the stitching in specialised software.

If not then that's a ridiculous amount of work for what is (admittedly an impressive technical and very interesting achievement through which to roam) a somewhat uninspiring photograph overall.

Hi,
They had 40 gigs of images. They used a Dell work station with 24 gig RAM, and 2 4 cell Xenon processors. They used autopano to stitch it together in 2 days to create a 200 gig KRO file. Than photo shop was not able to open it, so they had to cut it up to 3 peaces, to open one it too 1 hr, and to save 3 hr. There are some more detail but I'm lazy to translate it and need to go.
There should be english translation and a movie too
Cheers
Misi

If that little Cessna is fast enough I'd expect to see it multiple times in the final image.

Great find. I had a look at it. It's best viewed full screen, after hitting the full screen button, you can see what detail 70-Gigapixel Panorama really has.
Sony DSLR-A580 and NEX-5 with 'some' lenses.... I'm in denial that Lens Lust got me !
