I have visited my UK Dyxum collegue Bob J in July and during the visit we discussed the possibility for him to attend a Benelux Dyxum meeting which he would very much like to do. I'm willing to organise but both for him as well as myself September is not easily doable.

So here's a proposal:
Three possible weekends: October 2/3, October 16/17 and October 30/31. preferably Saturday, Sunday is also possible or even both. If October 16/17 is chosen we could combine with the "BelgiumdigitalLive" event on October 17 in Schelle (near Antwerpen)

Location: To be determined in North half of Belgium or Southern half of the Netherlands (see comment above on Oct 17, but 16 still free to choose a location). Suggestions welcome.

So hereby a request to respond in this thread with the following:
- Interested to attend yes or no
- If yes, which of the proposed dates are possible for you
- suggestion on location or special activities

Given the time of year a location with some indoor opportunities to flee bad weather are probably the best.

Hope we can get enough interest around this proposal, if not we'll fall back on something next spring as the winter month are not ideal for something like this.

I will keep an evergreen post with dates/attendees and early september we'll have to take a final decision and lock in, in order for people travelling from abroad to make their arrangements.

Dear Dyxumfriends,

Unfortunately I can't make it on the 2nd/3rd october. Obligations in Switzerland. Our annual 'huttentocht' is from oct 1 'till oct 5 in the Alpstein Region. Other dates will suit me!

Recently used an old 5.6 / 400mm Marexar M42 telephoto. All manual with a simple A-mount adapater. But wow, what a fun. Even tried it with a 2x Pallas TC. Hardly any light left on the focusscreen but 800mm (cropped on my A700 1200mm) is sensational.

Maybe I'll bring along that ol' heavy son of a gun next time at our meeting.

Hi pegelli

For the moment I am available on all three October dates.
Location doesn't matter, as long as there is space to park my car.

Been a long time ago I think since last time (Antwerpen?)

Minolta (MD) Rokkor / Minolta Dynax / Sony Alpha

A creative mind.

Status thusfar, seems there's lots of possible dates (still):

Still polling for suggestions on location, but I would have no problem with another Antwerp meeting. There's a lot of places we didn't go in 2008.

What happened to the 'Zuiderzee' places? Offcourse I don't mind Antwerp but we had earlier a discussion about Elburg or Spakenburg. Even Zandvoort came along... And we haven't been to NP Hooge Veluwe yet.

Quit curious what's it gonna be.

Dick, I only suggested Antwerp because nobody reacted on location after my post starting off organising something when Bob J comes over to meet the Benelux Dyxum crowd. I'm OK with the Zuiderzee places, but given we're doing this in October we want a place where we can go inside if the weather forces us. From that perspective Zandvoort and NP Hoge Veluwe are less preferred I think. Do you know any Zuiderzee places with a bad weather contingency possibility?
