It is a real pleasure to announce a master class lead by our well known and regarded member ijsvogel aka. Gustav Kiburg.
I believe I don’t need to introduce Gustav to most of you since his contribution to our community is unique and as a multiple DPC winner his photography has gained high respect. Kingfishers with Gustav Kiburg Award winning Dutch amateur photographer Gustav Kiburg is well known for his breathtaking Kingfisher photographs. Gustav’s patience over many long hours of waiting for the Kingfisher to arrive has paid off. Gustav uses the Sony a700 together with the Sony G lenses to capture his stunning images. When is it? Where it is? A word from Gustav; this master class , shall be about the kingfishers my story , about them , their habitat, and their behaviour with pictures , so pictures of where they live , pictures of their behaviour. i show them my portable hide , and tell how i go to work , to take those shots how i find them , tell them the best way to photograph them also , which settings i use with the A700 , which lenses that i use my setup in my portable hide, i show also , very good print`s in paper-frame ,the prints are 30x40 cm and they are in a paper-frame from 40x 50 cm , really nice to see them so they can see them also on prints the time , i think , but i am not sure , shall be 45 a 60 minutes , maybe more, ( later this week i know for sure ) visitors can ask questions it`s in a room , and visitors , can book a seat they can look at the site of WILKINSON CAMERAS and after the master-class , we can talk with members of DYXUM at this event , of Wilkinson Cameras, its great , you can look at their site Kudos to Sony for engaging Gustav for such presentations. With all due respect to various pro photographers engaged as “Sony alpha Artisans” that have recently started advertising Sony Alpha system, personally I really believe that persons like Gustav are the best solution to present a-mount system; not only for his talents and skills but also because of humble, open-minded and friendly approach Gustav is having when sharing his knowledge. For all those that attend this class, a highly recommended opportunity well worth free advertising here on dyxum. If you have any question about this class, please do not hesitate to ask and Gustav will try to help you. Edited by brettania - 03 September 2010 at 13:59 |

i can't believe we had this tread open for so long without any question or comment.
Did i make some big mistake in announcing this event or it is just that we don't have members interested in such things ?
Anyway, thanks for the update Gustav, i wish i was closer and visit. |

I'm glad to say we at Sony collected Gustav from the airport this afternoon, showed him briefly round Manchester; http://www.flickr.com/photos/10471872@N02/5064999345/
and he is hard at work this very second, making sure his seminar is a fantastic experience: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10471872@N02/5065638012/ I hope we get to meet some Dyxum users tomorrow. |

Good job, Gustav takes beautiful pictures! If this was a webinar I would be certain to attend. Good luck to Gustav, and thanks to Sony for his support!

Well if I lived in Jersey and worked in York I'd be sure to make it. But living in New Jersey and working in New York makes it a bit too far. Hope it goes well!

G'day All,
I would have loved to have be able to be there as well, but being Australia, just a tad far to go for a week end. Hope that all goes well. And hopefully Sony will do a master class in Australia at some stage and have so of the Dyxum Pro's in again. Thanks for the news, oh, please update after the event and tell us how it went on the day. Regards, Craig. |

Well, with a sad heart I must return Gustav to the airport tomorrow for him to return to his native Holland and to his beloved Kingfishers. Gustav did us proud (although I should point out he was there to talk about his photography) and his sessions lasted an extra 30 minutes each time as his guests wanted to ask many further questions and talk further about his pictures.
I'll let Gustav tell his full story, but I hope not all of it, as last night Paul Genge and myself had a few too many drinks and told him all about the A700 replacement.... (Gustav and Paul)
Many thanks Gustav! Sam Pilling Edited by sam_e_p - 10 October 2010 at 23:16 |
