I salute your ingenuity. I have also heard of the Canon timer/release terminated with a Minolta connector to the same effect.

I finished my Intervalometer system for my 5D. It will time any interval from 1 second to 24 hours in one second increments. I thought I would post it in case anyone wants to make one for themselves.
The Intervalometer System
I put a 3-conductor 3.5mm jack on the Remote Shutter. It matches the 3-conductor 3.5mm plug on the Interface Circuit. The Interface Circuit will be mounted in the CF case. I can unplug the Intervalometer and use the Remote Shutter in manual mode. Plug the Intervalometer in and take photos at any set repeating interval. The timer interval is set in whole seconds up to 24 hours. The Circuit Schematic
D1 is a generic diode - Radio Shack 1N4005 - It makes the waveform unipolar R1 is a 47 ohm resistor - This makes the circuit draw the same current as the Timer Speaker C1 is a 10 uFarad capacitor - This removes the buzzer waveform Opto-Isolator - Any Opto-Isolator will work (a generic NPN transistor may be substituted) Note: Disconnect the speaker in the Talking Timer. Set Timer for 'Repeat' Set Timer for 'Countdown' Mode Turn off Voice Mode Set Buzzing Mode The complete gallery link is below: http://www.pbase.com/number10_11/intervalometer -- Merry Christmas Edited by MojoRick - 10 December 2006 at 07:54 |
