Dear Dyxumers,
The vote counting finished and I am pleased to announce the excellent photo which won the competition ...
The two runner-ups who get the Honourable Mention award are: "Sunken village at Lago di Resia, Alto Adige (Südtirol), Italia" by Daninho ![]() and "Urban Mirror" by darosa ![]() Congratulations to the winner and the HMs and thank you all for voting and participation in this DPC ... Happy shooting, MiPr Edited by MiPr - 28 July 2011 at 13:17 |

Such splendid photography on display here! Awesome winner! Killer runner-ups!
Interesting how the winning shot and the 2nd HM are all about complexity (whether through repetition or the lack thereof) and the first HM is all about simplicity. In any case there's so much to look at in all of these shots. |

Just to echo Brian's comments above; these are three of the very best images I think we've seen for some while here and it is certainly an interesting observation about the balance between complexity and simplicity - just proves that neither one approach nor the other is 'right' and it's all down to the sheer quality of the image overall that wins through.
well done to the three members above but also to all that took part - a tough one indeed! Very best wishes, Neil. |

Well, I voted for darosa's actual shot, and love the other one, too, even if it's not, finally, an HM. So, to amend my first reaction to this thread, that makes 2 photos that play on simplicity (the two HMs) and one that plays on complexity.

All excellent photos and I voted for two of them so I'm pleased.
The burning question for me is what treats did Sharpeye use to get those dragonflies to do those tricks? Congratulations to all.

Dear people...
THANK YOU! I'm delighted with this win, but have to congratulate for Daninho and Darosa (and other dyxumers that have posted nice photographs) , they photos are spectacular as well. @ RubberDials, well...situation was really interesting.. at first, they were just two damselfly on lotus plant, but then come the others on the same place, so actually i have done series with 2,4,6 and 8 creatures. This one i like the best.. when i get more shots, i will post it later this year. (dragonflies) |

Congrats to the winner and all runner-ups!
All excellent shots. Does anyone else see the CCCP in the winner's shot? |
