price paid:Can't remember
positive:Small, cheap, sharp
negative:Feels flimsy
comment:This was my main E-mount lens till I got my Sony 10-18/4 OSS. It is a great little lens and for the prices these go for a no-brainer (this or the newer version).

I find the colour a bit clinical, you might consider it modern. I find it hard to describe the difference with some other lenses, the colour is good but lacks some of the magic I find in my Minolta G-lenses or even the Ricoh GR.

positive:All the Sigma E mount primes are great value, small light and sharp
negative:Nothing at this price
comment:Excellent lens for the money, not quite as sharp as the 30mm and 60mm Sigmas. Very discreet on a NEX body. All three Sigma lenses were developed from those used on the DP1, 2 and 3 APS-C Sigma cameras, A pity nothing showing up from Sigma for full frame (FE) yet.

price paid:£115
positive:Hood included, non-rotating (fly-by-wire) focusing ring. Couldn't be much cheaper.
negative:Could be smaller (but probably not at that price). Makes a worrying rattling noise when powered down (this is the focus group moving around unconstrained by magnets), but this has not caused any problems in 2 years of use.
comment:Darling little lens, great value for money still the only native e-mount lens I own and tends to travel with me and the NEX-7 as a 'carry anywhere'.

price paid:$200 new
positive:Love it! This was purchased for my Sony VG-20 as I wanted something sharper than their 20mm f/2.8 which I've never been impressed with. I have the new one which has the "ART" stamp on it and the smooth black finish. The AF is just as fast as anything Sony is making. It does not have the tendency to flare like so many aftermarket lenses.
negative:Can't think of a thing. I really like shooting it.
comment:This is a very strong optical solution for the NEX line of camcorders and still cameras. It's very sharp and has excellent contrast to boot. I'm very excited about what Sigma is up to with this ART series. Last, when editing video later, the Sigma's color mixes well with my other Sony glass. I'm very satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend this lens to others.

negative:Clunking noise when turned off but isn't really a problem
comment:I really love this lens! I have managed to create some amazing landscapes with this lens. I love how small and light it is and how sharp an image I can get with it. I got mine part of a second hand package with a Nex 7 and also a Sigma 30mm f2.8 I can't really fault it. It's deff my travel/walkabout lens. Really impressed with these little sigma lenses.

comment:Recently I've used this lens for videofilming i.c.w. my NEX-F3 during a mountaintrek around Zermatt Switserland. It served me well! Just point and shoot with one hand. Came home with nice shots and perfect landscape pictures.

price paid:100USD (with the 30)
positive:Sharp on center
Lightweight
Low price
Hood
negative:Not that sharp at the extreme corners, but that is ok for me.
comment:This FL is very useful for me when travelling and this lens stayed on my camera almost all the time on my last trip. THe results came out excellent. Sharpness improves a little at f/4, but the extreme corners are not razor sharp as the center, but still very good.
Distortion is as expected for thi FL. Better than my Sony A-mount 20mm 2.8f.
Color rendition is neutral and flare is better than the 30mm sibling.
