To mark the centenary of the prestigious Archibald Portrait Prize, a representative collection of winners and notable entries over those 100 years has been assembled and curated by the Art Gallery of New South Wales and is now on an Australia-wide tour. Currently at the Geelong Art Gallery about an hour's drive from Melbourne, where we visited today.

Of particular interest to us was the striking portrait of Grandma Lum Loy, painted by our very close friend Geoff La Gerche (#12).

All a99ii with CZ 24-70mm f2.8 Vario-Sonnar.

Here is a sampler.

Obviously a great selection of portraits - and you document it very well, showing the enormous variety of styles and approaches!

Thank you for sharing it with us, Joe!

Thanks for taking us along in an armchair museum visit. Very worthwhile to look at all these paintings but also how you framed and composed the photographs.
You can see the April Foolishness 2022 exhibition here Another great show of the talent we have on Dyxum

It's amazing to see how the styles and subjects have changed over the years. I'm sure it would be a great collection to have, maybe even to hang in your own home. Speaking of which, if you're interested in making some replicas of your favorite pieces from the exhibition, I would recommend checking out https://beyondprint.co.uk/ they are a professional printing service that can help you get high-quality prints of your favorite artworks. Enjoy the exhibition!
