It won't be as stunning as Skye is, but I'll manage😂.

Today I can report the receipt of my fourth card (out of 5)

Hezu's card from Helsinki arrived with some serious signs of a thought journey

On the back the description of the ruffs chasing each other

Many thanks Heikki!

Saturday postal deliveries are hit and miss in the country villages so I was very pleasantly surprised to see my sixth postcard peering up at me from my postbox this morning. Another virtually mint condition 6x4 print from Australia from Greg (@gregja).

The front has a string of feint red barcode lines running along the bottom but they are barely noticeable. The photo is an artistic shot of a footbridge to a popular park close to Greg's home close to the Sydney airport and an oof aircraft can be seen in the arch at the end. Was this taken with a T/S lens I wonder? Has all the hallmarks.

The back franking print runs over the text but not sufficient to obscure Greg's greeting.

Thank you Greg

I totally miscalculated earlier in this thread and thought I'd receive my five planned and one extra, but I totally forgot my very early request for an extra card from the opposite side of the planet, this one!

So this brings my revised current tally to:
5+1 sent - All recorded as arrived
5+2 expected - 6 received - just one more to come now.

Wow, Greg's card made it to the UK more quickly than here even though SoCal is closer. Maybe I'll get his card later today.

Love love love seeing so many cards flying around the world and landing in folks' mailboxes.

@Brian - wow that’s lightning fast, a new DPE Cross-equator record I feel.. Glad it made it unscathed. Any T/S action will be in the edit :)
@Art - We’ll see. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long!

I received the card (see below) yesterday, 24 Oct 2023, from KoBra64. Just a couple of little edge chips, otherwise perfect for this high gloss, thick card stock. I have now received two of the five and of the five I sent, three have been acknowledged.

I have posted some pictures in the Themed section - four in total - that I used as postcards. The one missing comes from Pentacon Six and Velvia so I didn't put it anywhere yet (not an A or E mount!). I will show the original here once it hopefully arrives. But so far none of mine arrived to their destination. And I have received 2 of 5.

Another arrival yesterday. Art, a great action shot of your trip to the Indian Wells tennis tournament. Great composition and colour. Thanks, yes a coffee in Hawaii sounds like a winner.
Card has picked some of the tailings of the inside of an Australia Post van but is otherwise pristine.
Cheers,
Greg

Thanks for the update, Greg! Yes, looks like my card arrived in great shape. My card took about 3 weeks to get to Australia from southern California. Maybe by boat this trip?

-- 6 of the 9 cards I sent have been confirmed on the other end.
-- I've received 4 of the 10 that I expect.

You will have to amend this statement now because, in this mornings post is your card to me

Remarkably, for a 6x4 print it has travelled without blemish on either side. The writing is clear and easily readable so the back of the print accepted being written on with no smudging or bleeding, as can be the case with some photo paper surfaces.

The photograph itself is a vivid image of a Polish forest river with a very nice balance between the darker and lighter areas and the still water allows for a very satisfying reflection. I like it. Thank you very much.

And this brings my final tally to:
5+1 sent - All recorded as arrived
5+2 expected - All received

Thank you everyone for making this my most successful DPE

It's great to see one of @Mestari's postcard arriving somewhere. And it's nice to see a straight print, no postcard back, making it safely! Is that photo paper heavier than typical? Also, what day did you drop that in the mail? I want to get a sense of the travel time.

@bonneville, congrats on making it to 100% in both directions. Awesome!!

My cards were left at the post office on Friday, 29th of September.
The cards are as heavy as typical postcard. I have little experience with typical photo paper but I think this may be a bit heavier.

OK, "only" 4 more to arrive...
And I am still at 2 received. I'm waiting for 3 more.

Thanks, @Mestari. I'm expecting one of your cards, and I will compare it to my prints that I make at home, see if the paper is heavier. I use the Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy, weighing in at 256 g/m^2, 10.4 mils thick. I stick a "postcard back" to this when I send mine ... message me your address and I can always send you one!

With luck, your card lands here in California soon.
