Decided to take the trip down to Spa Francorchamps this weekend (3 hrs drive) to visit one of my favorite racing gatherings the Spa Classic. Predominantly featuring Le Mans racers from the 60ties till 90ties and recently also some material out of the 21st century. Brought my new AF500 mirror and that shows to be an excellent choice for actions shots. Paddocks shots were done with the 17-35G.

Good set with good detail. My favorite is number 8. In good light and low ISO ive always liked the images that have come from the 850/900. TFS

Some great shots with the 500mm f8 reflex.
I particularly like #7, perfectly framed and captured.

+1 from me.

Great bunch of classic race cars and #7 is a very clever shot.

Love the shot #11 with the BB512. Also the paddock shots. The Saleen in #22 looks a tad underexposed for my taste. Nice view though. TFS Remko .

I never became good friends with the AF500 (and sold it in the end), but you did well with the lens. Nice series Remko.

Great outing, great photos!

#1 and #21 for me - and, of course, the low lights which give a real Le Mans feeling. #4 is just gorgeous! Nice to see the AF500 working so well!

TFS!

Thanks for the comments all. I was pleasantly surprised by the AF500reflex, the bokeh brings some sort of grittiness which suits these pics very well. Also overall sharpness and resolution were plenty enough. FYI pic 1 to 11 with exception of 6 and 7 (80-200APO) were shot with the AF500reflex.

The nice thing of the AF500reflex is the size. You can easily take it along and peep through the small gaps available around a racing circuit.

@MichelvA, indeed the Saleen in underexposed but for some reason I liked it this way.
