Well, for me, it's because of the paperwork required. Also, in order to get tracking information you have to use the higher level of service (with USPS), which costs quite a bit. I've sold internationally before, but part of the reason I only use PayPal is the brilliant automatic shipping slips you can print out from home. PS Sorry about the 28-70mm |

If you look for items on eBay, there is often a US or EU restriction on the countries which the seller will ship to. I suspect the ratio is about the same here. It never hurts to ask the question despite what is in the advert. |

Thanks for the F/B guys, it gives me more of an understanding, the onus is also on me - if l am after a particular lens then l need to post a "WTB"
Lattiboy, it looks like l singled you out but l didn't mean any offence, l was just giving an example, l should have been more considerate. Live & learn. l don't hesistate to ask on ebay if they will sell to Aus buyers but on the forum l thought it may have been misunderstood as rudeness since the seller has only put their country folk as a buyers preference. |

It is probably no exaggeration to say that 99% of my sales have been to buyers out of country. I have been very happy with the Japanese postal EMS system. It is reasonably priced, very quick, easy to track shipments, easy and cheap to insure, and very reliable. I can't speak for other country's postal systems, but in my case I have no reservations at all. In almost every case the package has reached its destination within one week. The only delays have been with the customs officials in the receiving country.
