Mr. & Mrs. Flicker had a fight and are not speaking to each other. Mr. Flicker is sleeping outside the nest tonight.

I've posted these and more in the Zoo Shots 4 thread, but feel these few should also be here amongst their fellow birds.
Taken on a recent visit to the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary outside of Melbourne. All a99ii with SAL70400G2.

4. The habitat of the Glossy Black Cockatoo as well as its relatives the Red-tailed and Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos has been largely destroyed in the recent devastating bush-fires, and there are fears for their future in the wild.

Nice series Joe. Hard to tell they were taken in a 'zoo'.
Good details with this combo.

Fred,
The Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary is a bushland enclave in the Dandenong Ranges about a hour out of Melbourne where native wildlife are kept for display and captive breeding in their natural environs. Most of the animals can be seen in walk through enclosures, and there is minimal use of physical barriers between them and the visitors.
