Great tracking, also very good processing, looks like harsh shadows that you cleaned nicely.
There is a difference between a shaky or out-of-focus photograph and a snapshot of clouds and fog banks. - Schrödinger

Thanks Paul, yes it was a very dull late afternoon. The bird caught me by surprise and I didn't have time to increase my shutter speed hence the wing blur. Nearly didn't post the first two because of it but then thought they set the scene. Edited in DxO Photolab.

And some more 'insecticide', I couldn't see any of these insects until I viewed the SD card on my PC. Very small bird with a heavy crop, fantail/wagtail?? Whichever it was very hard to shoot with very fast erratic flight behaviour.

Remarkable set, Peter, and a real tribute to you as the photographer and to Sony's AF algorithms and hardware. First two give excellent context, and the third is the 'money shot'.

Thanks Joe, it wasn't just the Sony wizardry but DxO's Photolab as well. I was shooting partially into the sun and the bird just appeared as a black blob which I was able to improve upon with their spot weighted lighting and shadow control.

Lorikeet emerging from the depths of a hawthorn tree, just liked the 'impressionistic' background...
