It was the bee eaters I was hoping would visit here, I have a sacred kingfisher at my local lake although it's seldom seen. Bee-eaters are shown to be in Victoria but I've never seen any, however whenever I head north they seem to be quite common. Reminds me of the rainbow lorikeets which I'd see in Q'lnd in the 60's but never here, they've now migrated south to the point that they're quite a nuisance here. Hopefully the BE's will do the same but I doubt I'll live to see it!!

Doh, totally missed that bit.
Though they do also seem to range all the way down to Melbourne during the warmer months, guess you just have to find a suitable habitat for them.
Rainbow Bee-eater

Went for a walk this weekend in my corner of Sydney's south and could hear Bee-eaters, Sacred's and Dollarbirds around...but no chance of getting any shots. 3 hours on foot and I had 6 shots on the card as I came home.

In this part of world, majority of migrant birds has already flown to the south, so not that many birds flying around here. I might have some few potential older pictures that I haven't posted to Dyxum in archives, so maybe I can contribute something...

Domien,
The mirrored owl in low flight over the water is stunning.

Thanks, Joe
It’s a product of modern cameras with bird-eye-focus and 20 frames/sec .
And luck of course, that didn’t change over the years.
